About Eclipse

"It will stand out to me as one of those rare, near-perfect evenings in the theatre" – Audience Members on A Raisin in the Sun

We are the foremost Black-led national production company in the UK, at the vanguard of delivering diverse programming in theatres across the country.

To Eclipse, Black includes anyone who is marginalized for their race or ethnicity.

About Eclipse

Our mission is:

‘To influence and instigate change that leads to a more diverse and equitable theatrical landscape.’

We use the Black British experience to create new work that will enrich the stories told in our mainstream media across theatre, film and radio.

About Eclipse (part 2)

Founded by former Artistic Director and Chief Executive Dawn Walton, Eclipse is a National Portfolio Funded Organisation with Arts Council England, and the only Black-led NPO who deliver an annual middle scale tour to regional theatres.

Eclipse is a beacon for Black artists and theatre makers outside of London. From our home in Sheffield, but working nationally, we support artists on a bespoke level and through two programmes:
