We like to think of Eclipse as a family, with brothers, sisters, cousins and relatives based across the North of England, the UK, and so much further afield. We would love to welcome you to the family, and support Eclipse as we grow.
Dawn Walton founded Eclipse to address the dearth of theatre made by, with and for Black Brits, and the exclusion of diverse stories from mid-scale theatre in the UK. Eight years later, in a tumultuous political climate in which racial discrimination is at the fore, the value of telling Black British stories from the past, present, and future cannot be overstated. As the foremost Black production company in the UK, Eclipse is vital in placing a diversity of Black British narratives into mainstream cultural life, while collaborating with and developing Black artists to make their voices and stories heard.
Eclipse is a charity and until April 2020 all donations made to us will be matched by our generous supporters Arts Council England. So donate £20 now, and it will automatically become a £40 donation.
