Inspired by the Slate British Asian Women Writers' Panel Discussion event that took place earlier this year at Kala Sangam. It was felt there was a need for a group based in the North similar to the Asian Women Writers Collective, set up in London in 1984.

A social and writing group for self identified women of South Asian heritage, this writers group is a space to share, collaborate or simply be inspired to write.

Wed 19 Jun: Writing Romantic Fiction
Come along to the session on Wednesday 19 June for a a fun, creative writing workshop for Asian women in Bradford where we’ll exploit romance formulas and unveil stereotypes to write our original love stories. We’ll be exploring the ‘romance’ genre through an ethnic and political lens embracing LGBTQI and disabled peoples.

No need to book just drop in. Those who attend will run the group. Writers across all genres and fields are welcome.

The group is funded and supported by Slate.
