Slate Weekender Masterclass: Freelancing with Adam Lowe

Taking place as part of Black Arts World: Slate Weekender - a showcase of the new wave of Black* artists in the North.

In this session, Slate Enabler Adam Lowe invites attendees to think about all the areas artists are too embarrassed to ask about: day rates, invoicing, late payments, pensions, unions and tax returns. He’ll offer solutions and together you’ll explore best practice and the important aspects to consider and plan when you’re self-employed.

Adam Lowe is a writer, publisher and producer from Leeds. He is the Greater Manchester Slate Enabler and teaches at the University of Leeds. He has performed his own work internationally.
