A friendly conversation and check in for Black artists, and fellow artists who are also marginalised for their race.

This an opportunity to share and connect with Artist Ella Mesma and Enabler Melanie Abrahams from the Slate World UK team alongside guests Degna Stone and Martin Hylton.

Degna Stone is a poet and editor based in Gateshead. She worked in the literary department at Live Theatre, Newcastle for 12 years before joining Eclipse as a Slate Enabler from 2017-19.  She is a co-founder and former Managing Editor of  Butcher’s Dog poetry magazine, and a Contributing Editor at The Rialto. She received a major Northern Writers Award in 2015, holds an MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University and is an associate artist with the wonderful folk at The Poetry Exchange. Her latest pamphlet Handling Stolen Goods is available from Peepal Tree Press.

Led by Eclipse Theatre with partners Theater De Meervaart, ICK Amsterdam and Teatro GRIOT, the two-year programme will open-up new potentials in programming, audience development, digitisation and cultural exchange.
