Nick Ahad is a multiple award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster. Plays include: Redcoats (Mikron Theatre Company) Glory (Dukes Theatre, Red Ladder, Tamasha) Partition (Leeds Playhouse/BBC Radio Leeds), The Chef Show (Ragged Edge Productions, Stage Performance of the Year Rural Touring Awards 2018, Best Live Performance Cumbria Life Culture Awards), Coming Home Together (BBC Radio Leeds), Muslamic Love Story (DepArts), My Mum the Racist; Inner Voices (JB Shorts). He is currently under commission with Leeds Playhouse, Rifco Theatre and Claybody Theatre.

TV writing includes Emmerdale and an original series developed by BBC Drama and Avatar Productions. He is currently writing on a primetime BBC Drama and has series in development with Red Planet and Sister Pictures.

As a broadcaster, he presents the weekend mid-morning shows on BBC Radio Leeds and is a regular cover presenter of Radio 4’s Front Row. He has also appeared on BBC Breakfast as a cultural commentator.

Former Arts Editor of the Yorkshire Post, he is North of England critic for Plays International and has written for the Guardian and The Independent.
